New School Improvement Partner joins Trust
We are pleased to welcome experienced and knowledgeable educator Pete Bloomfield to our Trust as our School Improvement Partner.
Pete began his journey in education after attending a comprehensive school in Norfolk, later earning a degree in Philosophy and Politics from the University of East Anglia (UEA), where he also completed his PGCE. His career path has been remarkable - starting as a school caretaker and teaching assistant before rising through the ranks to become a head of faculty, an executive principal and ultimately holding executive-level leadership roles across multiple trusts.
Over the years, Pete has led both primary and secondary schools in England and Scotland, working in settings that range from highly successful independent schools to those serving some of the most economically and socially challenged communities. As Executive Principal, he spearheaded the transformation of two of the country's most deprived academies - from an ‘Inadequate’ Ofsted ratings in all areas to ‘Good’ judgments with ‘Outstanding’ leadership -demonstrating his commitment to elevating standards and opportunities for every child. Pete has also delivered significant improvements in other struggling schools across Norfolk and Suffolk, most recently leading one of the lowest performing primary schools in Norfolk, doubling results and establishing a strong leadership culture and a clear vision for success.
Appointed Deputy Director of Education at Academies Enterprise Trust in 2022, Pete went on to serve as Interim CEO of a Suffolk-based multi-academy trust. He has been a featured speaker at professional conferences and has contributed to various publications on school improvement, leadership development and inclusive practices.
Pete said: “I am very pleased to be joining Evolution Academy Trust. I always remain steadfast in my belief that strong leadership and inclusive school cultures can transform outcomes for all children. I am passionate about ensuring that those who have not ‘won the lottery of life’ receive the highest-quality education, and I see it as the duty of every school leader to deliver that promise.”
