Pupils in harmony at multi-school choir event
Children from all 12 Evolution Academy Trust schools in Norfolk and Suffolk came together for a concert on 5th December, performing songs with the theme of ‘believe in yourself’.
Twenty pupils arrived at Costessey Primary School from Angel Road Infant and Junior Schools, Bignold Primary, Coldfair Primary, Dell Primary, Eaton Primary, Elm Tree Primary, Filby Primary, Nelson Infant, Poplars Primary and Wensum Junior to take part.
In the morning, the children were treated to a singing workshop with Krista Robbins from Norfolk Music Hub, who taught them three group songs that they would perform later in the day including ‘Circle of Life’.
After a quick lunch, all the pupils gathered together to sing the songs they had learnt in the morning, before each school choir performed a variety of songs they had been practising previously, including ‘Unstoppable’ by Sia, ‘’You gotta be’ by Des’ree and ‘Happy’ by Pharrell Williams.
It was a wonderful example of our schools collaborating for a project highlighting the joy music can bring to the educational environment.
