Trust schools unite for Evolution Cup
Over 250 children from all 12 Trust schools came together for the annual sports day on Friday.
Taking place in glorious summer sunshine at Elm Tree Primary School, the event saw teams from each school compete in a carousel of events including javelin, long jump and the innovative ‘Hip Hop Showdown’. Pupils then took part in running races over 100m for KS1 and 200m for KS2.
Director of Education Katie Lawson presented the medals and winners cup at the end of day. First place went to the children from Costessey Primary School, while there was an unprecedented three schools sharing second place: Angel Road Schools, Eaton Primary and Elm Tree Primary.
The winners of the sportsmanship award, chosen by volunteer students from Pakefield High School who helped on the day, were Poplars Primary School.
Event organiser Harry Wyer, teacher at Elm Tree Primary School, said “This was the fourth time we have held the Trust-wide Evolution Cup – it was wonderful to see all the children come together, represent their school teams and display superb sportsmanship. It was an amazing day in the sunshine – thank you to everyone involved in making it a success!”
