Children on song at Trust choir event
Children from ten Evolution Academy Trust schools in Norfolk and Suffolk came together for a concert on 29th November, performing songs with the theme of ‘unity’.
Twenty Year 5 and 6 pupils arrived at Costessey Primary School from Angel Road Junior, Bignold Primary, Coldfair Primary, Dell Primary, Eaton Primary, Elm Tree Primary, Filby Primary, Poplars Primary and Wensum Junior to take part.
In the morning, the children were treated to a singing workshop with Krista from Norfolk Music Hub, who taught them two group songs that they would perform later in the day.
After a quick lunch, all the pupils gathered together to sing the songs they had learnt in the morning, before each school choir performed a variety of songs they had been practising previously, including ‘Seasons of Love’ from Rent the Musical, ‘We go together’ from Grease and ‘Lean on me’ by Bill Withers.
It was a wonderful example of our schools collaborating for a project highlighting the joy music can bring to the educational environment.
