Sports in the sunshine for all Trust schools
Children from schools across Norfolk and Suffolk have come together for an annual sports tournament, with the winners presented their medals by Paralympian Jordan Catchpole.
The Evolution Academy Cup involved all 12 schools in Evolution Academy Trust playing sports including tag rugby, football and kwik cricket. Teams of up to 18 children represented each school, featuring those from years one to six.
Coldfair Primary School came out winners of the Key Stage 1 contest, while Costessey Primary School triumphed in Key Stage 2. Elm Tree Primary and Bignold Primary won the Sportsmanship awards.
The event was co-ordinated by Julia Halliday, Headteacher of Elm Tree Primary School. She said: “Last year was the inaugural Evolution Cup, which was the first whole Trust event of any kind - it was an incredible day!
“This year Elm Tree teachers Harry Wyer and Daniel Smith have organised the day, and I need to thank for their enthusiasm and hard work in making everything run smoothly.
“Although it is a huge undertaking, it is absolutely worth it when the children come together, to represent their school teams and display superb sportsmanship and enjoy meeting children from all other Trust schools.
“Our Trust’s belief in ‘progress through partnership’ is epitomised when our children and staff join together to make amazing things happen.”
